Nursing Dance Troupe Hyped the Dance Floor Up
By Mervyn C. Tan
The Nursing Dance Troupe (NDT) bedazzled the Thomasians with their ground-breaking dance routine in HYPE: The SOCC Street Dance Competition, an open-to-all dance competition sponsored by the Student Organizations Coordinating Council (SOCC) last September 29, 2010 at the P. Noval Court.
With more than a month’s worth of preparation, the NDT Street Dancers mastered their dance routine and delivered it with the power that only kings and queens of the dance floor can bring. Much to no one’s surprise, the NDT won by a landslide with a score of (89.5%). They were followed by Arkimmerce, a group of dancers from the College of Architecture and College of Commerce with a score of (86.2%) while Pax Project placed third with a score of (78.4%).
“It felt great that we were able to show our talent in dancing. Despite the busy schedule in lectures and duties, we were still able to lift the name of our college in our university, I’m really happy because all our efforts and sacrifices paid off and we really felt the support of the whole Nursing community and the rest of the audience,” said Kinsley Serencio, NDT President.
We can see much more of their captivating and breathtaking performances in their dance concert entitled D.A.R.E. Dream. Act. Redefine. Emancipate. on March 10, 2011.
