NACU caters the other side of CON students

NACU: Nursing Alternatives Classes jUST for U, a simultaneous series of workshops, was another project of the Nursing Central Board of Students held last November 18 and 19. The series of workshops was designed to stimulate students interest in different fields and to hone their talents.
N’Vision: Learning the Digital Photography’s Fundamentals
The aspirant photographers learned from the invited guest, Mr. Edwin Celestino, a professional photographer and a professor of De La Salle University - College of Saint Benilde School of Fine Arts and Design, as he gave his talk and seminar-workshop at Room 312 of St. Martin de Porres building.
“Not all good pictures are taken through digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera(s), you don’t need it to capture good pictures,” he beamed while addressing the students.
N’the Air: A Cocktail Flipping Mixology
The University of Santo Tomas College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (UST-CTHM) visited the College of Nursing (CON) to share lectures about flair tending at St. Elizabeth Hall. Under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Elizabeth A. Guevarra, the Nursing community learned the basics of flair tending through the seminar conducted. In addition to that, the UST-CTHM guests shared tips on making concoctions of various drinks and cocktails.
N’Bellir: Divulging your True Beauty
The Face Shop, one of the sponsors in the Nursing Week, conducted a seminar-workshop regarding the skills in taking care of the skin and steps in applying proper make-up. This event was facilitated by Ms. Marge Apacible, Training Committee Head of the said cosmetic line. Samples, free demonstrations and practices were also given to those who participated in this seminar-workshop.
N’Genium: Preventive Maintenance, Basic Car Care and Basic Troubleshooting
With the help of a team from Honda- Shaw Boulevard., a seminar-workshop on how to take good care of cars and basic troubleshooting was held at the Nursing Auditorium. The students surely learned a great deal on taking care of their cars properly.
N’Dulge: Learning Easy Health Recipes
Aspiring chefs of the college flocked to St. Elizabeth’s Hall for a workshop on food given by guests from the UST-CTHM. This workshop was already held before. But due to insistent public demand, the NCBS brought it back again this year.
Chef Sam de Leoz, a well-respected professional in the culinary industry, together with the CTHM students, taught the CON students to make healthy, delicious and easy-to-cook dishes. A free taste was also given to those participants who signed up earlier for the event.
The seminar-workshops had provided alternatives and broadened the perspectives of the Thomasian nurses on other fields aside from the field of Nursing.
